our approach: Project Phases

Aspirations, benchmarking & planning

The first set of tasks in any of our projects, are designed to help us to better understand the requirements and aspirations of our clients.  To some extent, this is already known, but we always try to ensure that we have captured the needs of all stakeholders.

Any benchmarks we can use to evaluate the success of the project are also gathered at this stage.  We always try to take an analytical approach to measuring the success of our work – something which gives us and our clients even more confidence in the ultimate solution.

Once the information gathering has been completed, we get to work on putting a plan together that is both realistic and delivers against expectations.  HeathWallace always deliver projects to plan and budget!

Design & usability testing

First we begin to design the solution by identifying the ideal information architecture through site-maps and wireframes.  Once these are agreed, we can start the process of creating design concepts that match the vision.

Once the design has been completed and signed-off, we recommend that some usability testing is carried out.  Our experience ensures that very little rework is required after the tests, but it is always necessary to validate any assumptions with a representative group of users.

Implementation

With the design in place, we build the site in HTML and CSS using the highest standards of quality and accessibility.  This development work is never done in isolation and always takes account of the current infrastructure and any other technical constraints.  Once built, the files are sent to the client with toolkits that explain everything in the code.  Together with our outstanding technical support, we provide clients with everything they need to manage and maintain the site over time.

When the project is complete, we try to ensure that the appropriate tools are in place to measure improvements.  Our next step is to work with our clients to understand what has improved, why, and what could be improved further.  A huge proportion of our revenue is derived from repeat business – this is because our client relationships evolve into something best described as a partnership.
